Irish Weather
Ireland's weather is fairly temperate, and does not reach extremes in either the summer or winter. This makes it a great place to visit year-round, and if you are traveling by car, there will be little in the way of weather hazards to watch out for. While the winter months in Ireland are not plagued by terribly bad weather, the spring and summer months are by far the best time to visit.
There is one forecast that is commonplace year-round and in every region in Ireland: rain. You are sure to experience rain at some time or another while on the island, and as a general rule the most green and scenic areas are the ones that experience the most rainfall.
Ireland's weather is heavily influenced by the Gulf Stream, bringing the Caribbean warmness across the ocean to its shores. Summers aren't uncomfortably hot, but they are very warm and enjoyable, perfect for hiking, exploring the beaches and driving across the countryside. Because it is situated quite far north, it stays light out in the summer months until around 11 pm.
